About Us
Our Mission
The North Texas Research Coalition (NTRC) is dedicated to supporting collaboration between political science, public administration, and public policy scholars across North Texas with the aim generating high-quality, collaborative research and disseminating their findings to a wider audience.
Statement of Need
Despite the high density of research institutions in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, and the wider region of North Texas, collaboration across university lines in this area has historically been very low. Competition and siloization at both department and university levels discourage research collaborations which might otherwise prove fruitful from forming. While economic and honorific competition between our institutions at the university level is a reality we cannot change, there is no reason that competition should extent to us as researchers at the individual level. The isolation it causes robs us all of valuable collaborative resources which could otherwise be used to promote our work.
Membership
Membership in the NTRC is voluntary, free, and open to any individuals in North Texas who are interested in collaborating on research with their peers at other regional universities. We focus on increasing coordination between policy, political science and public administration scholars at the large research universities in Dallas-Fort Worth listed below, but by no means restrict membership to researchers from those institutions or those disciplines. We welcome researchers from other research institutions or from other disciplines who want to collaborate on these highly interdisciplinary issues
Meet Our Team
Our founders and organizers are all faculty working at research universities across North Texas. As social science researchers themselves, they are involved in organizing the NTRC both as a means of leveraging resources for their own work and enabling colleagues at their universities to better pursue research in their own areas. Thanks to our team for volunteering their time for this service commitment.
